Midwinter Khao Yai adopted the “Zero Food Waste” practice and aims to be a role model in terms of sustainability by recycling organic food waste through fertilizer fermentation. We then use this fertilizer to nourish our homegrown plants in the greenhouse. We achieve high sustainability as:
Limiting food wastes to 0 due to the technology that completes the fermentation process within 10 hours
Altering food wastes to beneficial substances, complying with the circular economy
Reducing food waste in landfills by over 400 kg/day
Preventing the Greenhouse gas emission by 44 tCO2eq per year, equal to planting 6,000 trees
Supporting the sustainable uses of resources, producing the fertilizer at around 60 kg/day
